The paperwork matters because it expands what the project can credibly build outside token markets.
Memecoin coverage usually centers on price, volume, market-cap rotation and social momentum.
Trademark filings sit outside that short-term market data, but they can materially affect what a brand is able to build.
Mumu the Bull’s recent filings add that structural layer to the project.
MUMU is listed by IP Australia as Application 2682039, published and awaiting examination with a July 30, 2026 priority date. The project also identifies MUMU THE BULL as Application 2682957, with an Aug. 3, 2026 priority date. The stated coverage includes digital media and NFT-authenticated works, apparel and entertainment branding.
The applications do not equal final registration. They do, however, make the project’s direction much easier to understand.
Mumu is being treated as a character brand rather than only a memecoin.
The distinction matters because the bull already has history. Mumu emerged in 4chan’s /biz/ culture in 2018 as the optimistic counterpart to Bobo the Bear. The character was already circulating before the current token needed a narrative.
Most memecoins have the opposite problem. They have a liquid token and then scramble to invent reasons the mascot should matter.
Mumu already matters to a specific corner of internet finance culture. The project is now trying to build the legal and commercial structure required to take that recognition outside of crypto-native channels.
If the trademark process develops successfully, the practical doors are obvious: branded merchandise, licensing, entertainment, collaborations and clearer action against direct commercial impersonation.
The project is also positioning itself early on Robinhood Chain. Robinhood revealed the network in 2025 and announced mainnet in July 2026, meaning the ecosystem is still young enough for its first recognizable communities to shape its identity.
The filings do not determine whether Mumu becomes a defining brand; they establish the legal groundwork for that strategy.
But the strategy is more coherent than simply waiting for another meme rotation.
Old internet recognition, a new retail-focused chain and formal brand infrastructure are three assets that usually do not appear in the same memecoin story.
The significance is the combination of pre-token recognition, early-chain positioning and brand infrastructure.
